Los Alto’s Art and Wine Festival July 12th – 13th 2008

The Los Alto’s Art and Wine Festival took place last Sunday. The weather was hot, but that didn’t stop many people turning out to appreciate the good taste of wine, and the diverse art to choose from.

There were six wine vendor’s at the event. WinosPlace tried Naumann Vineyards who were offering three different Merlot’s and a Chardonnay. Winosplace member’s tried both the ’03 and ’04 Merlot’s (04 being a Silver Medal Winner).

Naumann’s vineyards is located in Cupertino, California. They are only open for wine tasting four days out of the year! Called ‘passport day’s, openings take place on the third Saturday in January, April, July and November. Hours are 11:00am – 5:00pm.

Leal Vineyards have wine tasting daily from 11-5 and are located in Hollister, CA. This 45 acre eastate has the perfect micro-climate ideal for grape growing. We tried their Carnaval – Mertiage-Cabernet Based wine. Varitals from the Leal Estate include; Grenache, Mourvefre, Syrah, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay!!

Have you ever craved Chocolate with wine but find that the combination of the two can leave your mouth confused? Linda Bartlett is the founder of Belgique Truffle Gateau, wine’s designed to be paired with wine. You can choose from milk or dark chocolate, the milk chocolate and macadamia nuts is delicious! We tried some samples along with our wine and left with happy taste buds. Check out TruffleGateau.com for ordering information.
